Christmas music memories

Music plays a huge part of my traditional Christmas celebrations.  Playing the trumpet has always been a big part of my Christmases past. I have been blessed with so many amazing opportunities from playing in Brass ensembles at the Mall to playing the Trumpet Shall Sound for our local Messiah performance to playing a descant on Christmas eve in church to playing seasonal solos in band or orchestra. So many wonderful memories that I am very grateful for.

Not everything that involved music was well in my world.  During my tenure in the Canadian Armed Forces, my musician ship was mocked and disregarded.  This affected my confidence grately.

This COVID-19 year I knew I did not want my trumpet to be silent. So after not touching it much since the March-2020 Covid restrictions, I picked up my trumpet and added my bit to this beautifully sung Silent Night. I hope you feel my love and passion for music as you listen to this excerpt from Belle Voci’s, Silent Night.
